Epson WIA, or Windows Image Acquisition, is a standard interface provided by Microsoft for capturing and manipulating images. In the context of Epson devices, the Epson WIA driver plays a crucial role in facilitating seamless communication between Epson scanners and Windows-based systems.

Epson WIA Driver Missing: Solutions

- Solution 1: Restart Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) Service: Find the WIA Service by typing services in the Windows search box. Locate WIA (Windows Image Acquisition (WIA), right-click on it, and select Properties. Allow automatic startup, and press Start.
- Solution 2: Reinstall Epson Scanner Driver: Open device manager, find the Imaging Devices, right-click on the scanner when you find it, and select Uninstall. Download the files at the bottom of this page, and install the latest Epson scanner drivers, which contain the Epson WIA driver.
- Solution 3: Troubleshoot for your Scanner: If the issue persists, go to settings, find the Update & Security option, and select Troubleshoot. Select the Hardware and Device option and run the troubleshooter.

The downloaded folder will contain the latest drivers for DS Series (Windows, Linux, MacOS), ES Series (Windows, MacOS), WorkForce Series (Windows, MacOS), and RapidReceipt Series (Windows, MacOS).
Windows users will need to find the exe file and double-click on it to run the setup. Similarly, MacOS users will find dmg archives, drag the archives and drop them into the Applications folder to run the software.
