HP LaserJet 1020 Drivers

When it comes to driver compatibility, the files on this page are compatible with the following operating system versions: 

• Windows (XP, Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10);
• Linux (supported distros: Elementary, MX, Zorin, Ubuntu, Manjaro, Red Hat, Mepis, Mandriva, Mint, Linpus, IGOS, SUSE, Fedora, Debian, Boss). 

As of 2022, there are no HP LaserJet 1020 drivers available for the Mac OS, as well as Windows 11. 

How to Update HP Printer Drivers on Windows

In order to download the necessary file, simply complete the Captcha at the bottom of the page and press the Download button to trigger the downloading process.

Once your download is done, locate the file (usually in the Downloads folder). Right-click on the folder and press Unzip/Extract. When it is extracted, the folder will have separate folders for Windows and Linux. That being said, open the Windows folder. 

The folder includes a single executable file. Simply double-click it to run the setup wizard. The setup takes around 5 minutes to complete, and it’s recommended to restart the device upon finishing it. 

How to Install HP Printer Drivers on Linux 

Updating drivers on Linux is similar to the Windows setup. Firstly, find and unzip the downloaded files. Once you open it, find the .run file inside the Linux folder. 

The next step is opening the terminal, which can be done by pressing Ctrl+Alt+T simultaneously. 

Type $ sh hplip-3.23.8.run into the terminal and press enter. Next, select the install type by entering either an ‘a’ or a ‘c’. It’s suggested to pick ‘a’, since the setup will automatically be done. 

The setup will ask you to enter the root/Superuser password, and once you type this information, the setup will finish in the background. All that’s left is to update the drivers in the printer settings. Connect the printer properly and open the printer settings. Select the appropriate PPD file (suggested in the list) and press Update Driver. Restart the device to make sure everything is updated properly.
