Microsoft's Surface laptop series has been gaining popularity due to the volume of useful features that it has to offer. If you're looking for the latest Surface 4 laptop drivers, you'll find them on our page.

As of 2023, Surface models come with pre-installed operating system versions Windows 10 or Windows 11. Therefore, the downloaded container will have two separate files for those two OS versions. There are no official drivers for Surface laptops that are compatible with Mac or Linux operating systems. If you do find any online, avoid them and contact support for direct help, since downloading unprotected and unlicensed drivers can cause more harm than good. 

Upon downloading the file, it is recommended to extract the folder by right-clicking on it and selecting the Extract/Unzip option. Once again, make sure to select the correct setup folder to avoid installing incompatible drivers that may cause harm to the device. 

How to Update Surface 4 Laptop Drivers on Windows

For Windows users, the simplest way to install the new drivers is to locate the downloaded folder and run the setup. In this case, the setup (for both OS versions) will be provided in the form of a .msi file. This means that, in order to run the installation, you need to be logged in as an administrator. In order to do so, simply right-click on the corresponding file and select to Run as Administrator. This will ask you for permission to run the file. Once the setup is done, restart the device.
