Once there, successfully complete the Captcha and proceed to download the files by clicking the Download button. It is important to mention that the downloaded files are organized into separate folders for various operating systems. 

In this instance, this includes separate folders Windows (Vista/7/8/8.1/10/11), Linux, and FreeBSD. However, as of 2023, there are no available drivers for the Mac operating system. Upon downloading the file, it is recommended to extract the folder by right-clicking on it and selecting the Extract/Unzip option. Make sure to select the respective setup folder to avoid installing incompatible drivers that may cause harm to the device. 

How to Update Nvidia GTX 970 Drivers on Windows

For Windows users, the simplest method to update any driver is through the Device Manager. To access the Device Manager, simultaneously press the Windows button and the X key, which will display a list of options. Locate and open the Device Manager from this list. Typically, graphics card/video card drivers can be found in the Display Adapters section of the Device Manager. 

Once you have identified the driver, right-click on its title and choose the Update Driver option. In the subsequent pop-up window, select the second option, "Browse my computer for drivers," allowing you to manually replace the drivers with the ones you have just downloaded, thereby saving time spent on online searches. 

Another simple way to install the new drivers is to locate the downloaded folder, find the setup file and simply double-click it to run it yourself. Once the setup is done, restart the device. 

How to Install Nvidia Drivers on Linux

Linux users can conveniently update their Nvidia gtx 970 drivers through the Terminal. To open the integrated terminal, simultaneously press Ctrl + Alt + T. Once the terminal is open, type chmod +x <file-to-give-execute-permission>.run into the command line. This will give you the permission to make changes. 

The next step is simply typing ./<file>.run into the command line and pressing enter to execute it (replace the <file> with the full name of the downloaded .run file).
