Upon downloading the file, it is recommended to extract the folder by right-clicking on it and selecting the Extract/Unzip option. How to Update Nvidia GTX 970 Drivers on Windows
For Windows users, the simplest method to update any driver is through the Device Manager. To access the Device Manager, simultaneously press the Windows button and the X key, which will display a list of options. Locate and open the Device Manager from this list. Typically, graphics card/video card drivers can be found in the Display Adapters section of the Device Manager.

Once the terminal is open, type chmod +x <file-to-give-execute-permission>.run into the command line. This will give you the permission to make changes.
